Current residence: Spend most of my time in Kansas because of health
Day job: MFN (I'm disabled)
Favorite teams: Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, KC teams, KU, OU
Real life sports experience: Played on undefeated football team, two state baseball and two state track teams
Fantasy sports experience: Winning MFN championships
Coach's tip: I do everything my way. You don't have to do what everyone else thinks is the right way! Be yourself. You know how you want your team to play!

mwd65, Los Angeles Express

Playing MFN Since: December 2016
mwd65, Express
Hometown (town, state): Cicero, N.Y.
Current residence (town, state): North Syracuse, N.Y.
Day job: Sixth-grade teacher
Favorite teams (all sports): New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
A real-life sports experience: Meeting Jerome Bettis and thinking "I could tackle him"... until we shook hands ... this ended my football aspirations.
A fantasy sports experience: Playing in four fantasy football leagues and making it to the Super Bowl every time.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Don't be quick to "blow up" a team you just took over. Go slow, set small goals, and learn from mistakes.

SunBlaze22, San Jose SaberCats

Playing MFN: For almost three years now (with breaks in-between).
Hometown: Brighton, CO
SunBlaze22, San Jose SaberCats
Current Residence: Lakewood, CO
Day Job: Forensic science technician
Favorite Sports Teams: Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins, Boston Red Sox
A Real-Life Sports Experience: Growing up, I always loved playing and watching football. My friends and I would play it in the back yard all the time. In high school, I played on the football team. I originally played as a WR for the first fews years. My final year of high school I left the team to work on my academics and other hobbies. I loved playing; I just wasn’t very good at it. But it was a very good experience for me.
A Fantasy Sports Experience: Not much else except for playing on here. I’ve helped a few people out with fantasy leagues, but never actually played myself.
Coach’s Corner: Don’t be afraid to change things up if they aren’t working for you. Change around players, formations, and plays till you find what works best for you and your team. Also, a lot of players look better on the field than they do on paper. Keep the guys that you can rely on during the game. Just because a player has high ratings doesn’t mean they’ll play great.

OffensiveTaco, Southern California Sun

Hometown (town, state): Hamilton, Ontario
Current residence (town, state): Same
Day job: Truck driver

Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Learn by reading the forums. Know your team’s strengths/weaknesses. Study your opponents in depth.

West Division

vcr5150, Arizona Wranglers

Playing MFN Since: 2017
Hometown (town, state): Central Nebraska
vcr5150, Arizona Wranglers (right)
Current residence (town, state): Omaha, NE

Favorite teams (all sports): Huskers & K.C. Chiefs
A real-life sports experience: Played high school sports
A fantasy sports experience: Longtime fantasy FB from the mid-1980s until about 2004
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Jump in, the best way to learn is to do — take a couple or three teams and experiment. After a couple seasons worth, you will start to develop your own strategies and philosophies. Don't trade for players who are old and have a retirement percentage listed.

Alexan Dragon, Denver Gold

AlexanDragon, Denver Gold
AlexanDragon, Denver Gold
Alexandre, 23, had a "skyrim" phase 11 months ago. Came out as AlexanDragon. I’m a big rocket league player. I was an athlete; now a lazy gamer. I LOOOOOVE animals. I also love old cars. My dream is to have a sanctuary for animals in need and a big garage to build my own rat rod from scrap. The highlight of my life right now is my relationship with my girlfriend of 6 years soon (I had to say this because she's watching me right now and I want to sleep in the bed tonight, not on the couch) and buying back my parents’ house for them to get their dream retirement house!
Playing MFN Since: 11months and addicted
Hometown (town, state): Laval, Quebec (Montréal suburb)
Current residence (town, state): Same as hometown
Day job: High-rise window washer (summer); operations team for the Montréal Impact soccer team (winter).
Favorite teams (all sports): Canadiens de Montréal, unfortunately
A real-life sports experience: Beating the Granby team that hosted a tournament and decided to play against us because we were the worst-ranked team in the tournament … and shutting them out in front of 8,000 local supporters! My favorite hockey memory.
A fantasy sports experience: Never did any fantasy pool of any kind.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Read community forums. Some are ridiculously helpful.

bedgerly, Oakland Invaders

bedgerly's Invaders trucker hat
Playing MFN Since: 02/16/16
Hometown (town, state): Saint Louis, Missouri
Current residence (town, state): Baytown, Texas
Day job: Truck dispatcher
Favorite teams (all sports): Miami Dolphins, Saint Louis Cardinals, Saint Louis Blues
A real-life sports experience: I played high school football and soccer and ran track. I wish I could go back and play baseball in high school as well
A fantasy sports experience: I've been playing fantasy football and baseball since 2003, and have been breaking even in daily fantasy tournaments since 2014. Cody Parkey will never be forgiven for shanking a field goal and costing me a spot in the Fanduel Championship.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Go to the help forums and read pretty much anything written up by Setherick on gameplanning and rule creation. Gameplanning is key, but DO NOT trade draft picks in Rounds 1-3 for current players. Team building begins with picking your own players, and far too many teams have been destroyed by mortgaging the future for a chance to use veterans now. Watch the games of successful players and their teams to see what kind of plays they run.

Pernbronze, Portland Storm

Pernbronze, Portland Storm
User Name: Pernbronze
Team: Portland Storm
Playing MFN Since: 4/1/17
Hometown (town, state): Eugene OR
Current residence (town, state): Coos Bay OR
Favorite teams (all sports): 49ers, Jaguars, Oregon Ducks
A real-life sports experience: In football, returning a kick that was high and getting hit as I tried to catch it, doing a backflip and suffering a possible concussion and arm injury. I came back in after laying on the bench for a series because someone else got injured and we didn't have enough players. I ended up springing two long TD runs and two short ones as a TE that game. I played football in grades 4, 5 and 7 and junior in high school due to knee injuries. In wrestling, tying up with someone who was a favorite to be state champion and beating him in 15 seconds with a toss over my hip. I wrestled in grades K-4 and my junior year in high school.
A fantasy sports experience: Been doing fantasy for as long as I can remember.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Try your hardest and always learn from your shortcomings. If you don't know something, look it up and ask.

Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Don't be afraid to experiment with your team and play calling. Scout. Don't miss too many draft picks!

Midwest Division

CrimsonWolfZ, Chicago Blitz

Playing MFN Since: June 6, 2016
CrimsonWolfZ, Chicago Blitz

A real-life sports experience: Played recreational basketball from 5th grade to 8th grade. Won the championship for my first and only time in my 8th grade season as well as being selected to the all-star team that year.
A fantasy sports experience: Went undefeated in my fantasy football league in 2013 thanks to Matt Forte and LeSean McCoy.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Always manually resign players. It's the best way to keep your salary cap down. Give players you wish to keep for multiple seasons high bonuses and lower the base salary to match the lowest bonus offer the player will take.

jabillups85, Cleveland Thunderbolts

jabillups85, Cleveland Thunderbolts
Playing MFN Since: 3/22/16 (Wow, I didn't realize it had been almost two years!)
Hometown (town, state): Laurelville, OH
Current residence (town, state): Tipp City, OH
Day job: PE teacher
Favorite teams (all sports): The Ohio State Buckeyes
A real-life sports experience: January 1st, 2015, Ezekiel Elliott goes "85 yards through the heart of the south" to clinch the game vs. Alabama. Buckeyes then go on to win the National Championship.
A fantasy sports experience: Won the 2017 MFN Fantasy Football league with a 12-1 record.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Ask questions of the owners who win!

Hellbringer, Michigan Panthers

Hellbringer
Playing MFN Since: Summer of 2017
Hometown (town, state): Menominee, MI
Current residence (town, state): Same
Day job: CNC machinist
Favorite teams (all sports): Washington Redskins, Blue Jays, and Michigan Wolverines
A real-life sports experience: Playing special teams my first year in football, 9th grade. I was on the kickoff team, and not really knowing what I was doing, I just ran down, and somehow plowed into the returner, laying him out hard. Everyone was excited and I had no idea how I did it!
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Keep your playbooks fresh. Swap out plays that aren't working.

Southeast Division

eyeballll, Florida Blazers

eyeballll, Florida Blazers
Playing MFN Since: April 2015
Hometown (town, state): Vancouver, BC, Canada
Current residence (town, state): Vancouver
Day job: Taper (taping, mudding, and sanding drywall)
Favorite teams (all sports): Philadelphia Eagles!
A real-life sports experience: I had both of my front teeth knocked out playing hockey when I was 16 … a very Canadian thing to do.
A fantasy sports experience: I've been playing fantasy football for years, so I've had my share of wins. Two years ago I managed to win the Toilet Bowl in BOTH of the leagues I was in. The two teams didn't have any players in common, so to lose that effectively in both leagues was quite an accomplishment (one my friends celebrate on a regular basis).
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Play selection is the most important aspect that is overlooked by many owners. If a play gets you a 1.2 yd average after running it 35 times, take it out of your playbook and try a new play! There are lots of plays that work and lots that don't. Your job is to find the ones that work.at feels like 1 minute ago (January 2018)

hectorg93, Jacksonville Bulls

Favorite teams (all sports): Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bulls, and (sadly) the Miami Marlins
A real-life sports experience: I actually got to see the Cowboys and Rams when they played in the divisional round of the playoffs this year.
A fantasy sports experience: My fantasy is to finally see the Cowboys win a Super Bowl, haha.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Don't miss any part of the draft ever and don't be afraid to take some risk.

cyclonelomax, Orlando Renegades

Mcarovil, Tampa Bay Bandits

Mcarovil, Tampa Bay
Playing MFN Since:2016
Hometown (town, state): Marlboro, NJ
Current residence (town, state): Boca Raton, FL but moving to Ottawa, CA, in 3 months
Day job: DEA agent
Favorite teams (all sports): Browns, Cavs, NY Rangers
A real-life sports experience: My mom got hit on by David Concepion, SS for the Cincinnati Reds, during a NY Mets game. I wanted an autograph. He gave his number to my mom, ha ha.
A fantasy sports experience: King of Fantasy Football
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Speed is a great attribute. Rules  that incorporate man and zone defenses enough to offset overuse penalties are key against veteran owners looking to get an advantage with 3 WR sets. :

South Division

Wolveraider, Birmingham Stallions

Playing MFN Since: 12/25/16 (Really? I had nothing better to do on Christmas?)
Hometown (town, state): Muskegon, MI
Wolveraider
Current residence (town, state): Same
Day job: Bus driver
Favorite teams (all sports): Michigan Wolverines and Oakland Raiders fan. I saw the Raiders on TV when I was 10 years old, the Silver and Black, Stabler, Casper, Tatum, Branch etc. I knew that was the team for me. Grew up a Michigan fan and will pretty much watch any sport that they are competing in, from women's softball to football. When I watch hockey, I pull for the Red Wings.
A real-life sports experience: High school football, we were playing a team that always competed for state championships and always kicked our butt. We played the game of our lives and I got a strip sack in the end zone, my teammate recovered the fumble for the winning TD (ah ... the glory days).
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Watch the games (especially if your new). Maybe it's just me, but when I first started playing I thought, "I'm not going to watch these little circles run around" (having been spoiled by Madden graphics), but it will help you learn the game and how the plays really work in a way that you can't by just looking at the numbers. Not to mention that once you are invested in your team and players, these games can be downright grab the nachos and a beer exciting.
I'm going to beat this dead horse...scout your own playbook. Too often I scout a team's offense and they are using Run Play A and averaging 1.1 ypc and they've been doing it all season or longer. Switch it up. Also be a copycat. Study the plays the good teams are using and the personnel they use to do it. Good luck! (because just like in real football, you're going to need that sometimes too).

shavar, New Orleans VooDoo

greyghost1225, Georgia Force

greyghost1225, New Orleans
Playing MFN Since: December 2016
Hometown (town, state): New Lebanon, Ohio
Current residence (town, state): West Palm Beach, Florida

A real-life sports experience: Team went to Ohio high school basketball xhampionships, finished second.
A fantasy sports experience: Started and was of commissioner of fantasy baseball, basketball, and football leagues (before it was on the Internet).
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Before making any moves on a your new team, read the tips in the forum and talk to experienced owners. It is a very detailed game and a little thing might make a big difference.

Loftusranger, Shreveport Steamer

Loftusranger, Shreveport
Playing MFN Since: March 2017
Hometown: Watford, UK
Current Residence: Cheddington nr London UK
Day Job: Accountant
Favorite Teams: Arizona Cardinals NFL
Real-Life Sports Experience: Competent weekend soccer and cricket (may need to look that sport up?) player. Only American football experience of note was throwing a touchdown pass the length of the playground in a 5 or 6 a side game at our equivalent of high school (a while ago). Spent my formative years trying to listen to the NFL using U.S. Armed Forces long wave radio frequencies, which, looking back on it, was a bit of a mission before it became a bit more popular in the UK with TV highlight coverage. Loved the World League (then NFL Europe) and watched the London Monarchs regularly at Wembley. Recent years I have seen at least one NFL game in London, this year attended the Jags vs. Ravens and Cardinals (cough) vs. Rams.
Fantasy Sports Experience: Plenty of different games over the years across a range of sports. Always loved the strategy based games rather than the Madden-style action games.
Coach’s Corner: Try to be competitive by minimizing your weak links. Look at your key backup players and try to ensure they are decent, as they will get game time. Play to the squad’s strengths (both play-calling and formations) rather than the playing the type of game you want to play.

Atlantic Division

UKRAIN, Charlotte Hornets

UKRAIN
User Name: UKRAIN

Playing MFN Since: 4/13/17
Hometown (town, state): Kharkiv, Ukraine
Current residence (town, state): Kharkiv
Day Job: Accountant
Favorite teams (all sports): Titans, Eagles, Ravens
A real-life sports experience: School basketball team

How did you become interested in American football? Soviet television showed reviews of the German League in American football. With the advent of torrents, I watch NFL and NCAA.

Otterpop, Pittsburgh Maulers

Otterpop Warner
User Name: Otterpop
Team: Pittsburgh Maulers
Playing MFN Since: System says a year but I have been playing about 6 months.
Hometown (town, state): Lakewood, CA
Current residence (town, state): Anaheim, CA
Day job: Human resource/payroll manager
Favorite teams (all sports): Dodgers/Lakers but football is by far my favorite sport. No favorite football team, though. Whoever is on my fantasy football team, who I am betting on (when in Vegas) and/or who I have in Draft King is who I am cheering for.
A real-life sports experience: Baseball (college)/football (high school)
A fantasy sports experience:  I have won over $6,000 one year in fantasy football. My ultimate fantasy, though, was to be a GM of a professional football team. I even applied for another position with the Washington Redskins. They sent me a "sorry but you do not have the qualifications for the position" letter. LOL.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): My biggest tip I can think of is to look at every player at the position you desire. Not all the super studs will lead your team there are players out there that will surprise you if you play them.

CrazyRazor, Washington Federals

CrazyRazor, Washington Federals
Playing MFN Since: Oct. 10, 2016
Hometown (town, state): Elizabethtown, Ky.
Current residence (town, state): Elizabethtown, Ky.
Day job: Machine operator at printing company
Favorite teams (all sports): Kentucky Wildcats, Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Penguins
A real-life sports experience: High school football and basketball
A fantasy sports experience: Fantasy football
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Don't expect immediate results. Take a few seasons to learn the game. Try different plays to see what works. Man-to-man is a better defense than zone. Passing is better than rushing. Blitzing is hard to stop. Don't get stuck running the same plays over and over again.

East Division

pdoug20, Boston Breakers

pdoug20
Playing MFN Since: Christmas Day 2015
Hometown (town, state): Hartford, CT
Current residence (town, state): Bristol, CT
Day job: Fifth-grade teacher/assistant college volleyball coach
Favorite teams (all sports): Chiefs (NFL), Braves (MLB), Stars (NHL), Florida State Seminoles and UConn Huskies (NCAA)
A real-life sports experience: First, meeting Gordie Howe when I was 10; Second, seeing the Tuck Rule Game in person in Foxboro in 2002 (for the record, it WAS a fumble!).
A fantasy sports experience: I've been playing fantasy sports since I was in high school, so I don't really have one experience that stands out over another.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Lean on your veteran owners as much as you can, and don't be afraid to ask for help. Also, be patient- consistency works much better in the long run!

raidergreg69, New Jersey Generals

Playing MFN since:10/25/16
Birthplace: Dayton, Ohio
Current residence: Dayton, Ohio
Favorite sports teams: Oakland Raiders, Ohio State Buckeyes football, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Celtics, North Carolina basketball.
raidergreg69, New Jersey
Real life sports experience: I quit playing sports in ninth grade, so my experience is as a fan. I used to have Bengals season tickets and witnessed history, though it was short-lived. I was in attendance when Corey Dillon broke the single-game rushing record vs Denver, for the Kimo von Oelhoffen game  and the game where the fan stole the ball from Brett Favre, stalling the Packers momentum and basically saving the game.
The Dillon game was during my drinking days. One time early in the game, Dillon ripped off a long run when I went to fetch a beer. A little later, I went up to the concourse to smoke and Dillon ripped off another long run. Upon returning to my seat, I was advised by the people sitting around me to get my ass back up on the concourse for the rest of the game because Corey Dillon scores a TD every time I go. I did and the rest was history until Jamaal Lewis.
Fantasy experience: I have been playing fantasy sports so long, I once played in an XFL fantasy league on an old fanball.com site, Exit 42. Had a perfect season in XFL too. Not only that, I played fantasy sports by mail in the late 80s/early 90s through Big Apple Sports. You would mail in your lineup for the week and they would mail out the results. If you didn't want to wait, they had a phone number you could call. I was a teenager/20-something and I would give my mom money to cover the checks she wrote for it.
Coaching Tips: There are so many pieces of advice new players need, but the simplest might be: Don't ignore the bottom of your roster. While it's important to have the best possible starting lineup, it's equally important to have strong depth. Injuries happen so a guy not starting now may be starting later. In my 18-1 season in CUST 79, my backup QB started 7 games and won them all.
Having solid depth can also improve overall team play. I have 2 or 3 starting caliber RB on my more successful teams and their YPC are similar, meaning I can run 35+ times a game and keep the other team off the field.
Also don't ignore your long snapper and kick holder. You can have the most accurate K but if you have a crappy holder and/or snapper, your K likely becomes inconsistent.

Chandyo, New York Stars

Chandyo, NY Stars
Playing MFN Since: August 2016
Hometown (town, state): Fort Smith, Arkansas
Current residence (town, state): Same
Day job: Level 2 IT tech
Favorite teams (all sports): Arkansas Razorbacks (football) and Baltimore Ravens. I only really watch football, but if I had to pick on the others, they would be Atlanta Braves (MLB), Memphis Grizzlies (NBA) and Columbus Crew (MLS).
A real-life sports experience: I was able to finally attend a Baltimore Ravens game, a couple of years ago. It was the final game of the season, but, sadly, had to go to Cincinnati to watch it. Ihave attended several Arkansas Razorback football games.
A fantasy sports experience: I've been playing fantasy football for about 8-10 years. Currently own/run two fantasy football leagues, One is a re-draft and the other is a dynasty.
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Don't be afraid to ask questions and speed is supreme.

Jaybo911, Philadelphia Bell

Jaybo911, Philadelphia Bell
Playing MFN Since: August 3, 2017
Hometown (town, state): Roanoke, AL
Current residence (town, state): Pinewood, SC
Day job: Manufacturing (work in a plant making cardboard boxes )
Favorite teams (all sports): College football: Alabama (ROLL TIDE); NFL: Philadelphia Eagles; Baseball: Atlanta Braves
A real-life sports experience: None
A fantasy sports experience: Have played some fantasy baseball
Coach's Corner: (tip for a new MFN coach): Your playbook comes with your head coach. If you change head coaches, you may lose some of your plays, so keep an eye on that.
