It's in the Bag: Studying the Sacks

This analysis is courtesy of Booger926. Please note these sack numbers through Game 9. You can see which teams are living by the sack and dying by them.

The Baltimore Stars have the worst plus-minus sack ratio and you wonder how much longer they can play "chicken" with just one QB on their roster. Conversely, a solid pass rush is a big reason why the Georgia Force has gone from 5-11 last season to 8-1 this season and why Detroit and San Antonio and Birmingham are so good. And, when Arizona Wranglers QB Ralph Trowbridge isn't throwing an interception, he's getting sacked.

Here's an interesting tidbit—Memphis Showboats QB Joseph Cantwell has only been sacked 18 times this season. He was brought down behind the line 78 times last season with Birmingham. BUT, Agustin Cook, Birmingham's new QB, has only been sacked 21 times. Did Cantwell (9 speed, 83 scramble) suddenly become more mobile? Is the Memphis offensive line that much better (remember, Birmingham had two All-Pro OL last season)? Has the change in game versions made that big of a difference?
